Job Descriptions:

Job Summary

The Social Worker will be responsible for conducting community outreach, supporting vulnerable women and girls, ensuring the effective delivery of child protection services, and leading awareness-raising initiatives within the Women Protection Project.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Seek and develop relationships with organizations that protect children, services, and /or any relevant topics & problems.
  • Regular visits to female prisons and provide a report on the condition of children in the prison, provide practical suggestions to WAW-Management to align its projects.
  • Escort children from referring agencies to the WAW Children's Support Center.
  • Develop, introduce, and implement individual reintegration and follow-up mechanisms for the children.
  • Oversee and compile the educational data to ensure all CSC children participate in the accelerated learning program (checking school records and incorporating results to design/redesign the CSC learning program).
  • Establishment of a reward system to motivate children for learning and to set a model for other children.
  • Development of a quarter/bi-annual publication to capture and portray children's academic and Extracurricular achievements and promote their writing skills.
  • Facilitate the participation of current and former beneficiaries 18 or older (15 if boys) who attend higher education, participate in a vocational training program, or are employed if the mother has not been released from prison (coordinating with the organizations that work for such purpose)
  • Follow up of the children who return home and continue their education (regularly checks on their progress.
  • Establishing, introducing, and implementing a record system of the children who get through to the universities and employment.
  • Assist in establishing an outreach mechanism with the communication and reporting Unit within HQ in order to increase public awareness regarding the protection and implementation of constitutional rights and Civil laws.
  • Development of individual reintegration and follow-up mechanisms.
  • Development of Quarterly/bi-annual publication to capture children's academic and extracurricular achievements.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Political Science, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in community development, women's rights, and child protection rights or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Protection topics.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical and professional conduct.
  • Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashto.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
