Job Description

  • Do OPD consultations for male and female patients in OPD and emergency room.
  • Take accurate history, perform examination and investigation for emergency patients.  
  • Familiarity with and usage of drugs from the basic drug list and rational use of drugs and prescribing.

·    Screen children and PLWs for SAM&MAM and refer complicated cases to Departments.

·    Refer complicated cases of SAM and children’s illnesses to the referral hospital.

  • Prescribe appropriate treatments according to MoPH, and WHO guidelines and provide health education targeted on client problems.
  • Refer patients to other departments for specific treatment.
  • Stabilization of patient with surgical and medical emergencies.

·    Work in collaboration with the nurses and Midwives to ensure quality medical care provision.

  • Medical Activities in IPD
  • Organize emergency department with emergency room nurses.
  • Take an accurate history; perform examination, diagnosis and treatment for IPD patients.
  • Follow up the patients after admission in emergency room and ward, taking patients progressive notes regularly.
  • Follow up the activities (taking vital sign, dressing, and nursing treatment) of nurses in emergency room and wards.
  • Giving order for blood transfusion for the patients if necessary.
  • Fill up IPD documents for patients in emergency room and ward.
  • Refer patients to wards for specific treatment if needed.
  • Participate every day in the morning report.

·    Follow-up of the severe and complicated cases.

·    Collect the number of new admissions and exits and attendance based on the register.

·    Transmit clear instructions to the nurse on medical care and specific monitoring of the patient.

·    Work as a member of the team, taking into consideration the non-medical problems encountered by the patients (feeding and caring problems).

·    Complete and properly fill the individual card with the medical information.

  • Do night duty according to schedule.

·    Assist the program team in gathering monthly reporting data.

  • Coordination with Hewad:
  •  Be aware of Hewad protocols and policies. 
  •  Make monthly report.
  •  Join the training and meeting upon request.
  •  Perform any other tasks assigned by relevant Supervisors or HEWAD leadership team.

Job Requirements

  • MD Degree Certified by MoPH.
  • Passed Exit Exam of MoPH.
  • Significant experience in Psychiatry.
  • Working experience as General Practitioner 3 to 4 years in hospital.
  • Good English language and Computer skills.
  • To Work in team and pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
