About BARAN
Bu Ali Rehabilitation and Aid Network (BARAN) is a nongovernmental, non-political and independent organization. BARAN has been established in 27.7.2006 registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Ministry of Education (MoE) , Ministry of labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD), Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in order to deliver standard health care, social and educational services including conducting researches. Special attention is given for the community development by promoting capacity building programs
Job Description
• Assist in complicated deliveries with doctor/senior staff
• Monitor labor using partograph
• Provide ANC and PNC services during night shift
• Provide immediate newborn care (drying, warming, breastfeeding support)
• Perform newborn resuscitation when required
• Administer prescribed medications and IV fluids
• Check and record vital signs of mothers and newborns
• Identify danger signs (bleeding, eclampsia, obstructed labor, sepsis)
• Monitor postpartum mothers for complications
• Ensure regular observation and timely intervention
• Manage basic obstetric and newborn emergencies (BEmONC)
• Stabilize patients before referral
• Arrange and coordinate emergency referrals
• Communicate clearly with referral facilities
• Maintain cleanliness of delivery room
• Sterilize instruments and use PPE properly
• Follow waste management procedures
• Prevent hospital-acquired infections
• Record all deliveries, complications, and newborn outcomes
• Maintain ANC, PNC, and delivery registers
• Complete partograph and patient files accurately
• Report incidents and deaths immediately
• Provide proper handover to next shift
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
• Treat patients with dignity and respect
• Avoid discrimination and mistreatment
• Support patient comfort and communication
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and support staff
• Ensure clear communication during night shift
• Participate in shift handover process
Job Requirements
• Diploma/Bachelor in Midwifery with MoPH license
• 1–3 years experience in maternity care
• Skilled in delivery, newborn care, and basic emergency management
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in Dari and/or Pashto
