Hask Engineering Services is a privately owned engineering and construction company, officially registered with the Ministry of Commerce, Central Business Registry & Intellectual Property of Afghanistan in 2007, under License No. D-27174.
The company operates through its regional offices located in Kabul, Jalalabad, Kandahar, and Mazar-e-Sharif, with the capacity to establish additional offices in other provinces as required by project needs.
Hask Engineering Services & Builders was established in 2007 and initially commenced its operations as a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory. Over time, the company expanded its scope of services to include Project Survey and Design, Construction Works, Engineering Studies, and Professional Training Programs, responding to the growing needs of the engineering and construction sector in Afghanistan.
In addition to its technical services, Hask takes pride in publishing “The Civil Engineer”, the first technical and engineering magazine in Pashto and Dari in Afghanistan, contributing to knowledge sharing and professional development within the engineering community.

Job Description
The Railway Signal and Telecommunication Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining railway signaling and communication systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient train operations. The role involves integrating modern signaling technologies, telecommunication networks, and control systems while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project and operational requirements.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- MSc or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Railway Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- 4–8 years of experience in railway signaling and telecommunication systems.
- Strong knowledge of signaling principles, interlocking systems, train control, and communication protocols.
- Proficiency in design and analysis software for signaling and telecom systems.
- Familiarity with international railway standards and safety regulations (e.g., CENELEC, IEC, IEEE).
- Experience with fiber optics, radio communication, and data transmission systems.
- Ability to prepare technical drawings, specifications, and system documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for coordination with engineers, contractors, and railway authorities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop railway signaling and telecommunication systems for stations, tracks, and control centers.
- Implement interlocking, train detection, and communication systems to ensure operational safety.
- Review and validate design calculations, drawings, and technical submissions for compliance with standards.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to integrate signaling and telecom solutions.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of signaling and communication equipment.
- Provide technical support during construction and operation, including troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and system handover packages.
- Support modernization projects, including digital signaling, fiber optic networks, and wireless communication upgrades.
