Hask Engineering Services is a privately owned engineering and construction company, officially registered with the Ministry of Commerce, Central Business Registry & Intellectual Property of Afghanistan in 2007, under License No. D-27174.
The company operates through its regional offices located in Kabul, Jalalabad, Kandahar, and Mazar-e-Sharif, with the capacity to establish additional offices in other provinces as required by project needs.
Hask Engineering Services & Builders was established in 2007 and initially commenced its operations as a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory. Over time, the company expanded its scope of services to include Project Survey and Design, Construction Works, Engineering Studies, and Professional Training Programs, responding to the growing needs of the engineering and construction sector in Afghanistan.
In addition to its technical services, Hask takes pride in publishing “The Civil Engineer”, the first technical and engineering magazine in Pashto and Dari in Afghanistan, contributing to knowledge sharing and professional development within the engineering community.

Job Description
The Railway Alignment (Geometry) and Track Structure Design Engineer (International) is responsible for the planning, design, and optimization of railway alignments and track structures in accordance with international standards. The role includes developing horizontal and vertical geometry, track layouts, and track structural designs to ensure safety, performance, constructability, and long-term durability. The position requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams and experience in international or donor-funded railway projects.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Under the direction of the Team Leader and in association with other team members:
- Identify railway design plan, codes and standards and also material specifications for the construction selected route.
- Identify and design the various technical options for railway construction involving track and bridges including signaling facilities and operational facilities such as stations, yard sidings, maintenance sheds etc. with the view of identifying the least cost solution.
- Prepare detail designs (and detail cross-sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, etc.) for the railway track works, structural works, railway stations, railway sidings, freight yard and marshaling yards, platform sheds etc., for the proposed alignment as per the Government’s specifications and international standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Postgraduate degree in Transportation engineering and railway engineering, with expertise in Railway track design, and 10 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience with Asian countries is an added advantage.
- Related experience in Railway Geometric design
