Aga Khan University Academic Projects, Afghanistan (AKU-APA) is an extension of the Aga Khan University (AKU), chartered as an international University with campuses and academic programs in eight countries across three continents. AKU-APA, through various academic entities of AKU has been supporting national academic institutions in Afghanistan, including Ghazanfar Institute of Health Sciences (GIHS) and all the Institutes of Health Sciences across Afghanistan since 2002 for their capacity building in support with the Ministry of Public Health. AKU-APA has been facilitating various Public Health Research projects in Afghanistan conducted by AKU.
The AKU is one of the entities of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of international development agencies and institutions that implement programs in rural development, education, health, culture, microfinance and private sector development. The overarching goal of the Network is to alleviate poverty and promote economic development and improve public health to raise the standard of living. In Afghanistan, the Network has been contributing to the reconstruction of the country since 1997 through its constituent agencies. Health programs are being implemented by the Aga Khan Health Service (AKHS, A), Aga Khan University Academic Projects in Afghanistan (AKU-APA), and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF, A).
AKU APA is hiring for the following positions for the immunity survey in children 0-15 years, against preventable diseases:
Responsible for collecting household data using tablets on family unit information, socio-economic status, and data relating to child immunity against the preventable diseases.
