Project Manager – Legal Aid & Psychosocial Support Project

The Organization for Women Empowerment (OWE) was established in 2014 as a non-profit and development organization - registered with the NGO Department of the Ministry of Economy, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. OWE aims to help impoverished communities, particularly women, youth, and children, gain social, economic and political potency by raising awareness, building capacity, educational and vocational skills training, and creating professional opportunities. OWE is a women’s organization for women. OWE's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, OWE is one of the successful organizations in the community, NGO Coordination Bureau, and region.

• Overall project management, implementation, and reporting for the legal awareness and PSS project in the assigned region.
• Ensure timely delivery of all project outputs, including legal awareness sessions, psychosocial support activities, and referrals.
• Supervise Legal Mentors, MHPSS Officers, Social Mobilizers, and Admin/Finance staff.
• Coordinate with UNDP, local authorities, community leaders, and service providers.
• Ensure gender-sensitive programming and safeguarding/PSEA standards are upheld.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, financial reports, and M&E data to UNDP.
• Develop and implement sustainability and exit strategies.

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience in PSS, health, or legal-related projects in Afghanistan.
• Familiarity with local socio-political context in Eastern/Western regions.
• Experience with UNDP or UN-funded projects is required.
• Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English (written and oral).
