Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, with Registration Number 4388 dated February 18, 2018. SSEOA works in the fields of education, health, and livelihood in the remote regions of Afghanistan. SSEOA envisions creating educational opportunities for girls and women to grow, thrive, and prosper. SSEOA works to empower communities in Afghanistan through education, especially for girls, promotes peace through education, and conveys the importance of these activities all around the country. Our mission is to empower Afghans, especially girls and women in the remote regions of Afghanistan by creating educational opportunities and livelihood skills because SSEOA has a firm belief that without educating girls, peace and prosperity is not possible.
SSEOA boasts a team of highly qualified professionals renowned for their discipline, organization, efficiency, and extensive tenure within both national and international organizations. The team is spearheaded by an Executive Body comprising of the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Program Director, Finance Manager, and Program Manager, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. At the helm of strategic governance stands SSEOA's Board of Directors, comprising five distinguished members renowned for their extensive experience working with the government and NGO sector.
Job Description
The Data Entry and Reporting Officer will be responsible for collecting, entering, managing, and analyzing project data for the School Feeding Project in Nuristan province. The position ensures timely, accurate, and reliable data reporting to support decision-making, donor reporting (WFP), and internal monitoring systems. The role also supports preparation of project reports and maintains data integrity across all project components.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry & Management
• Enter and maintain accurate project data including school feeding distributions, attendance records, and monitoring data.
• Develop and manage databases and spreadsheets for project reporting.
• Ensure data is regularly updated, cleaned, and verified for accuracy.
• Organize and securely store all electronic and physical data records.
Reporting
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for submission to MEAL Team Leader and Project Manager.
• Compile field data from monitors, storekeepers, and distribution teams into standardized reports.
• Support preparation of donor reports in line with WFP requirements.
• Generate summary tables, charts, and analysis for reporting purposes.
Data Quality Assurance
• Verify data received from field teams for accuracy and consistency.
• Identify and correct data errors or inconsistencies.
• Coordinate with Field Monitors and MEAL staff to resolve data gaps.
Monitoring Support
• Assist MEAL team in surveys, assessments, and data collection exercises.
• Support tracking of key project indicators (school attendance, food distribution, etc.).
• Participate in field visits when required for verification purposes.
Documentation & Filing
• Maintain proper filing system for all project data and reports.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of sensitive information.
• Back up data regularly to prevent loss of information.
Coordination & Communication
• Work closely with MEAL Team Leader, Field Monitors, and Project Manager.
• Coordinate with logistics and finance teams for data verification.
• Provide timely data updates upon request from management or donors.
Safeguarding & Ethics
• Ensure confidentiality of beneficiary and project data at all times.
• Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA principles.
• Report any data manipulation, fraud, or misconduct immediately.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in data entry, reporting, or database management.
- Experience with NGO or donor-funded projects is preferred.
- Experience in MEAL systems or WFP projects is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, and data management tools).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling data.
