Job Descriptions:

The Trainer is responsible for ensuring quality training through developing training materials, training effective modules, curriculum, conducting training, class management, and reporting.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and agree on work plans for the smooth running of tailoring training with the livelihood and value chain officers.
  • Provide support and advice from time to time to tailoring trainees.
  • Develop training material and comprehensive curriculums.
  • Deliver training sessions in tailoring, cutting, sewing, and finishing garments to the training participants.
  • Provide practical training on tailoring techniques including use of sewing machines, pattern making, measurements, fabric cutting, and stitching.
  • Develop a simple training plan and daily/weekly lessons aligned with the project objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate participants’ progress and provide individual guidance where needed.
  • Ensure proper use and care of tailoring tools, equipment, and materials existed in the training centers.
  • Encourage women beneficiaries to consider income-generating opportunities after completing the training.
  • Maintain a record of attendee attendance and provide reports.
  • Provide basic market skills trainings and information about potential market linkage.
  • Any other tasks assigned by project manager.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma/Certificate in tailoring, fashion design, or vocational training.
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in tailoring, garment making, or teaching vocational skills;
  • Experience training others (especially women and community groups) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sewing machine operation, cutting, stitching, hemming, pattern making, and garment finishing;
  • Ability to teach both theory and practical tailoring techniques;
  • Familiarity with hand embroidery and traditional Afghan clothing styles is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in Dari and/or Pashto;
  • English language ability is advantageous for reporting and curriculum development
