About La Chaîne de l'Espoir:
La Chaîne de l’Espoir is an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, especially children, the same chances of survival and development. The NGO has been working in Afghanistan since the early 2000s. In 2005, it built the French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC) in Kabul, a non-profit paediatric hospital, to provide high quality medical and surgical care for young patients. Since 2006, the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) has been responsible for the overall management of the FMIC, with La Chaîne de l'Espoir providing medical support and access to the most vulnerable populations. In 2016, the hospital expanded with the opening of gynaecology, obstetrics and neonatology services, becoming the French Medical Institute for Mother and Child (FMIC). Services for adults have also been developed in recent years.
The goal of La Chaîne de l’Espoir is to increase access to healthcare in particular for the most vulnerable afghans. To do so, La Chaîne de l’Espoir:

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Implementation of Outreach Health Activities
• Managing outreach activities related to the deployment of health facilities and maternal
health care for women and children.
• Provide support and advice on the operational activities of the centers, and offer medical
expertise to gynecologists in the field.
• Manage the referral system and ensure the quality of beneficiary follow-up and care
pathways with the cooperation of the protection manager.
• Ensure that teams in Kabul province have the necessary equipment and materials to carry
out their activities, through inventory management and the expression of needs.
• Respond to operational challenges in the field by providing technical and effective
solutions to facilitate access to beneficiaries and maximize the quality of aid, in
accordance with humanitarian standards and the organization's rules.
2. Monitoring and reporting
• Centralize and update the medical database, ensure reporting on beneficiary follow-up and
referrals.
• Contributes to data collection and qualitative check regarding Health activites.
4. Stakeholder engagement and capacity building
• Act as the direct point of contact with all local stakeholders involved in health facility
activities, representing the Ministry of Health.
• Participate in team meeting and one-to-one follow up organized by the direct and/or
technical manager.
5. HR management and supervision
• Ensure HR management of medical Team, scheduling and validating leave plans and
organizing regular appraisal of the performance of staff under his/her supervision.
• Organize regular meetings and/or field visits with the supervised staff to ensure all updates
are communicated regularly and follow-up on challenges with the support of the direct
and/or technical manager.
• Participate in the redaction and/or review of job description and participate in the
recruitment of new staff in collaboration with the project management team.
• Ensure sure that new staffs are welcomed and briefed on their roles and responsibilities.
• Assess training needs in coordination with project management team and HR department.
• Ensure the respect of CDE rules and inform the Program Coordinator of any disrespect of
the rules and procedures.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Master's degree recognized in health, general medicine, and ideally
with expertise in gynecology.
Experience
• Minimum 3 successful year experience in Health operation activity
for a humanitarian organization.
• Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment as
a flexible and respectful team player
• Ability to work with women, children, persons with disabilities and
vulnerable populations.
• Good knowledge in health activities, ideally in hospital sector
• Good knowledge in team management
• Experience using and updating database (Office package)
Language:Fluency in English, Dari & Pashto.
