Environmental Protection, Trainings and Development Organization (EPTDO) is a national non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization established in 2020. It is officially registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan under the Afghanistan NGOs Law as a tax-exempt organization. Our work focuses on climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, gender equality and inclusion, and ecological awareness. We contribute to national and global efforts towards net-zero carbon emissions while strengthening resilience, livelihoods, and sustainable development across Afghanistan.

EPTDO maintains a professional network of over 95 experts, including environmental and climate change specialists, policy makers, lawyers, agricultural development specialists, community organizers, public health experts, and media professionals. This multidisciplinary expertise allows us to design and deliver integrated programmes on climate resilience, environmental safety, and sustainable livelihoods, while ensuring gender-responsive and inclusive approaches.

The EPTDO primary focus areas include climate change adaptation and mitigation, as well as disaster risk reduction (DRR) and Waste Management. Our vision, mission and thematic areas of function are aligning with the core principles of the United Nations, and we are proud to be the only accredited NGO in Afghanistan by the UNFCCC, UNEP, UNCCD, GEF-CSOs Network and the UN established CLIMATE CHARTER. This accreditation allowing us to participate in the United Nations international conference in the world. In our participation, we advocate for the climate actions and we raise awareness of the people about the vulnerability of Afghanistan.

The EPTDO has a proven track record of successfully implementing a variety of complex climate change and environmental programs and projects, both independently and on behalf of donor organizations. Our efforts have been recognized by several international organizations and agencies, reflecting our commitment to impactful environmental action.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Specialist in Engineering to provide expert technical support, analysis, and solutions across our engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and the ability to advise on technical matters to ensure project success and compliance with standards.

• Provide specialized technical expertise and support in engineering design, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Review and evaluate engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for accuracy, compliance, and feasibility.
• Develop technical reports, feasibility studies, and detailed documentation related to engineering projects.
• Assist in the development of project scopes, technical proposals, and budgets.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to monitor project progress and quality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, codes, and regulations in all engineering activities.
• Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices.
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers or technical staff.
• Support project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Provide weekly and monthly report to executive director.
• Any other tasks assigned to him by senior management.
