Kandahar Refugee Organization (KRO) is a national-level, non-political, non-profitable, non-governmental organization working for humanitarian and rehabilitation roots in Afghanistan. Further, KRO is an Afghan organization that is committed to the development of the local economy and building local capacity for sustainable development. Thus, we have an established specialized network in many provinces of the country in order to design, and implement related activities in the field of food security, research, capacity building, disaster management, and placement.

• Identify and assess health, safety, social, and environmental risks related to the construction of watershed structures such as check dams, ponds, terraces, and trenches.
• Ensure that all construction activities comply with national and organizational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and social safeguard guidelines.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor implementation of safety measures including use of PPE, safe excavation practices, and machinery operation.
• Develop and deliver safety and environmental awareness training sessions for workers, staff, and community members involved in the project.
• Monitor and manage potential environmental impacts such as soil erosion, water contamination, and disturbance to local ecosystems.
• Ensure proper waste management on site, including disposal of construction debris and control of hazardous materials.
• Promote community engagement and address social concerns related to access, land use, and local participation during project activities.
• Prepare incident reports, near-miss records, and maintain HSE documentation and checklists for each project site.
• Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure implementation of environmental and social mitigation measures.
• Support the development of environmental and social management plans (ESMPs) and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Other

• Participate in training workshops, meetings, project events held in any provinces.
• Visit project sites and monitor all activities
• Respect and adore all policies of KRO code of conduct
• Maintain 100% transparency and accountability
• Any other task assigned by management

1.At least Bs degree in civil Engineering or Environmental Health and Safety faculty. (Higher degrees are preferred);
2. Minimum 4 years’ experience in health and safety especially in construction project.
3. Having work experience NGO/INGO will be preferred;
4. MS office;
5. Have the familiarity at English will be preferred and must be excellent to local languages;
6. Have the ability to work for long hours and under pressure.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
