Acted Afghanistan:

Acted is working in 20 provinces in Afghanistan around the country. These provinces are affected by natural and man-made disasters. Acted provides relief and emergency assistance to vulnerable populations affected by displacements, conflicts, or natural disasters, in the fields of agriculture, shelter, wash, and food security.

Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a highly organized project manager to oversee the successful execution of projects. The project manager does this by creating planning steps, managing the budget, and identifying the required resources for the project.

To be successful as a project manager you must have excellent organizational skills. A good project manager can manage all aspects of the project simultaneously.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create a planning schedule.
  • Secure funding for projects.
  • Plan and supervise the day-to-day implementation of the project activities.
  • Manage and provide support to project staff.
  • Contribute to finding adequate personnel for activity implementation.
  • Adhere to the proposal requirements, including planned activities, reporting, and monitoring.
  • Coordinate with Acted’s logistics department to ensure timely procurement of the required goods and services.
  • Ensure mainstreaming of gender and protection principles throughout the project
  • When necessary, liaise with the relevant government authorities and community stakeholders to obtain the necessary permission and community buy-in for the project.
  • Ensure that team members complete tasks according to the schedule.
  • Identify if staff members require further training and provide this training.
  • Research industry trends and innovations.
  • Prepare progress reports for stakeholders and investors.
  • Ensure that health and safety laws are followed.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Developing new programs/projects to support the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Creating and managing long-term goals.
  • Developing a budget and operating plan for the program.
  • Developing an evaluation method to assess project strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Writing program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.
  • Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of project status throughout its life cycle.
  • Analyzing program risks.
  • Working on strategy with the marketing team.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in project management, business management, or a related field.
  • 2 Years of experience with project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in English and local languages.
