About the Need:

Over the past two years, ECI has grown from a small, volunteer-led organization with a few employees and a couple of programs, to a medium-sized organization with a team of over 50 Afghan employees running 6 programs across 6 provinces of Afghanistan. ECI’s growth strategy has included investing in a strong Afghan leadership team who can navigate the organization through the uncertain environment while also growing the organization. As part of this growth strategy, ECI is fleshing out its senior management cadre. A key member is the Finance Manager who will manage our small but growing Finance department and help build out and give strategic vision to the growth and eventual bifurcation of the departments.

Job Descriptions:

The Head Teacher is responsible for overseeing school administration and development on a weekly and monthly basis. This includes monitoring teacher's teaching hours, providing necessary guidelines, and reporting to the principal. Additionally, the Head Teacher is accountable for organizing parent meetings and ensuring the safekeeping and maintenance of documents and records, including attendance, teacher progress reports, and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Main Roles & Resposibilities:

  • Head Teacher is responsible to perform his/her duties for development of school admin purposes in weekly and monthly bases.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to monitor the teachers’ teaching hours, offers them needed guidelines and report to Principal.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to monitor and control the teachers lesson plan, offers them needed guidelines and report to Principal.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to control and monito the absence and presence of students and report to Principal.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to complete the evaluation of new students on teaching department section.
  • Head Teacher must collect the reporting data and share the report with Principal.
  • Head Teacher must control and monitor the presence and absence of teacher and share the report with Principal.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to organize and manage parents meeting in school.
  • Head Teacher must safe and maintain document and records including presence and absence, teachers progressive report, and Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Undertaking any additional tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor to contribute to the overall success and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to perform his/her duties in align with MOE and Enabled Children School rules and regulations.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to come on time to school.
  • Head Teacher is responsible to has his/her ID card before coming to school.
  • Head Teacher must avoid mobile phone usage in formal working hours.
  • Head Teacher must avoid any illegal tools usage inside school.

Job Requirements:

  • Enabled Children School is committed to implement the child protection policy and main all effective behavior in all classes and school departments. Our intolerable approach ensures the child welfare and safety against any misbehavior. 
  • Hold a bachelor’s higher degree in special education, or related field.
  • Experience as Head Teacher in Special Education or in same position
  • Being familiar with rules, policies, and regulation and best practices of special educations.
  • Ability to effectively cooperate with a diver’s team of experts including teachers’ assistant, staffs and therapists.
  • Compassion, patience, and a caring attitude, and experience in working with children with disabilities;
  • Strictly committed to ensures the children safety and following organization’s regulations and expectations.
