BSFP Focal Point

Hungarian International Aid, founded in 1991, is one of Hungary’s largest humanitarian organizations that also has gained international recognition. Through its expanding community of experts, volunteers, donors and corporate partners, HIA-Hungary assists those in distress and deprivation. Regardless of nationality, religion and ideology, HIA-Hungary provides assistance to those in need in Hungary and in the international arena as a member of the international community in accordance with the strictest professional and transparency rules.

OBJECTIVES – Assistance to those in need: HIA-Hungary’s objective is to deliver quick, professional and effective assistance to crisis victims of natural and man-made disasters. Fight against poverty: HIA-Hungary’s objective is to offer not only emergency assistances but also provide chances to break out of poverty for people who are ready to take action to promote their catching up. Stronger social solidarity​: HIA-Hungary’s objective is to strengthen social solidarity through creating a culture of volunteering and giving.

Since 2001, HIA has been implementing humanitarian and development programmes in Afghanistan. In addition to humanitarian aid, our objective is to achieve, through our permanent local office, long-term sustainable results in the areas of education, rural development, public administration development, health and capacity building. In partnership with United Nations World Food Program (WFP), we deliver thousands of tons of food each year through “emergency humanitarian assistances” and “food for work” programmes to those in need. In the complex food programmes, we help the population to make a long-term sustainable living through income-generating training, agricultural, water management and infrastructural developments.

·        BSFP focal point has the overall responsibility of beneficiaries’ verification for BSFP food considering the already defined vulnerability criteria.

·        Contribute to food distribution process, especially for BSFP recipients, ensuring that the households are provided with the correct ration of food both for PBWs and CU2.

·        Maintaining the desired level of awareness, sensitize the beneficiaries on BSFP food in terms of its importance

·        Ensure the physical verification of beneficiaries during targeting and distribution

·        Full knowledge and understanding of HIA policies relating to Child Protection and Child Safeguarding Policy and other relevant policies

·        Facilitate implementing nutrition status improvement activities at the district level.

·        Familiarity with SCOPE system and ability of registering beneficiaries in SCOPE.

·        Any other task assigned by the management.

• Medical doctor or bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery or administration
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Humanitarian Response Programs and related fields (experience with WFP projects is a privilege)

·        Ability to resolve any issues during distribution.

• Effective communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken Dari, Pashto, and English languages.
• Ability to use the computer and have knowledge of MS Office packages.
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
