Call for CVs ( Security Guard, Cook and Cleaners )

Basic Education and Employable Skill Training (BEST) is an Afghan non-governmental organization established in April 2001. BEST has more than two decades of experience implementing livelihood support, agricultural development, vocational training, and community-based projects across Afghanistan.

BEST is seeking qualified, experienced, and committed candidates for the positions of Security Guard, Cook, and Cleaner to support daily operations at its field offices in Kunar and Takhar Provinces. Successful candidates will contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-managed working environment.

1. Security Guard

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of office premises, staff, visitors, and organizational assets.
• Control access to the office and maintain visitor records.
• Patrol the office compound and report any suspicious activities.
• Monitor office entrances during working and non-working hours.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and security incidents.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate from high school is preferred.
• At least 1–3 years of relevant work experience in security services with NGOs, UN agencies, or private organizations.
• Good physical condition and ability to work shifts.
• Honest, disciplined, and trustworthy.
• Familiarity with the local area is an advantage.

2. Cook

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare hygienic and nutritious meals for office staff and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Properly store food items and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
• Monitor food inventory and report replenishment needs.
• Follow food hygiene and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

• High school education is preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a cook with NGOs, hotels, restaurants, or similar organizations.
• Knowledge of Afghan cuisine and basic food safety practices.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Honest, reliable, and hardworking.

3. Cleaner

Key Responsibilities

• Clean offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms, and surrounding areas.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain hygiene standards.
• Refill cleaning and sanitation supplies when required.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Support office staff in maintaining a clean working environment.

Minimum Requirements

• High school education is preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant work experience with NGOs, private organizations, or institutions.
• Good understanding of workplace hygiene and cleaning procedures.
• Honest, punctual, and responsible.
• Ability to work independently.
