Project Manager (Mining/Overall Management)

1. Position Summary

• Role: Project Manager - (Mining/Overall Management).

2. Key Responsibilities

• Project Management & Scheduling: Develop, monitor, and update the detailed project schedule, tracking milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
• Cost Control & Budgeting: Prepare, manage, and report on the project budget, including cost estimation, forecasting, and expense control.
• Site Management & Safety: Oversee daily site operations, ensuring strict compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations, particularly in hazardous mining/manufacturing environments.
• Contractor & Vendor Management: Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, including procurement, contract negotiation, and quality assurance of deliverables.
• Technical Oversight & Quality: Supervise civil, mechanical, and electrical installations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular progress reports and addressing project risks promptly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all necessary permits, environmental approvals, and land acquisitions are in place. 

       Administrative and Operational Management

• Provide administrative oversight for project operations and field activities.
• Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials, and services required for project implementation.
• Supervise administrative and support staff assigned to the project.
• Ensure proper management of project records, documentation, and correspondence.
• Support budget tracking, financial documentation, and coordination with finance departments.
• Manage logistics for field missions, including transportation, accommodation, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with organizational administrative policies and procedures.

 Duration of Assignment:

• The assignment duration is expected to be 12 months, with the full possibility of extension based on performance and project needs

 Purpose:

•  Lead the planning, execution, and closure of the construction project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.

Reporting To: 

Projects development Director (PDD). 

Duty Station

The position will be based in Herat Province, Zenda Jan district with regular travel to project site

3. Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience: Minimum 5-10 years in project management, specifically within heavy industrial construction (mining, cement plants, or large-scale manufacturing).
• Skills: Proven leadership, expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Autodesk Construction Cloud), and strong technical understanding of construction processes. 

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Project completed within budgeted cost (±0.5%).
• Zero lost-time injuries (LTI) during construction.
• Adherence to the master construction schedule (milestones met on time).
• Final facility passed inspection on first attempt.
