AAHO is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (“NGO”) dedicated to improving the health status of the people of Afghanistan, especially the residents of Kabul Districts 6, 7, and 13. In pursuit of this mission, AAHO operates Afshar Hospital, a 100-bed healthcare facility located in Omid-e-Sabz Township, Darulaman (District 6). Through Afshar Hospital, the organization delivers quality healthcare services to all individuals seeking medical care, regardless of religion, race, gender, age, or ability to pay.

Main Responsibilities:

• To adhere to the values of Afshar Hospital.
• To maintain a professional attitude and appearance consistent with national nursing practice.
• Observe and assess patient condition and care needs continuously.
• Takes appropriate nursing action based on the nursing assessment.
• Follows physician orders. Notifies physician of changes in patient condition. Initiates appropriate preventative and rehabilitative nursing.
• Reports changes in patient condition to supervisor and MD.
• Provides total patient care to include, but not limited to:
  • Overall assessment of patient needs.
  • Taking and interpreting vital signs.
  • Administering medications and observing for their effect.
  • Carry out and maintain physician orders for IV therapy.
  • Administering respiratory care: 

Oxygen therapy, oral/nasal and tracheal suctioning, and monitoring pulse oximetry.

• • Performing physician-ordered physical therapy and positioning.
  • Monitoring intake and output.
  • Document patient assessment and response to treatments and interventions.
  • Utilize and maintain clean or sterile technique as appropriate for infection control.
  • Providing postoperative good nursing care.
  • Providing patient dressing.

• Graduated from a well-known/registered institute of nursing.
• Having 3 years of relevant experience. 
• Good knowledge of English and other local languages.
