Job Descriptions:

Nutrition/CDC and MHPSS manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing Nutrition, Communicable Disease Control (CDC), and MHPSS programs in line with MoPH guidelines and organizational policies. Ensures quality service delivery, technical compliance, staff supervision, reporting, and coordination with partners and stakeholders to improve community health outcomes.

Duties & Responsiblities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS activities across MHCO BPHS/EPHS projects.
  • Ensure effective implementation of national Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS policies, strategies, and protocols in line with MoPH and partner guidelines.
  • Oversee availability, quality, and coverage of Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS services at health facility and community levels.
  • Ensure the Nutrition, CDC and MHPSS activities aligned with HQIP and support the QQM.
  • Monitor program performance, service coverage, data quality, and reporting for Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS interventions.
  • Review and analyze Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS reports on a quarterly basis and provide technical feedback to relevant provincial and project teams.
  • Review M&E and partner monitoring reports related to Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS services and ensure timely development and follow-up of corrective action plans.
  • Ensure smooth and timely implementation of required Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS services across all MHCO-supported projects.
  • Represent MHCO in Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS related meetings, trainings, workshops, and coordination forums at national and provincial levels.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision visits to provincial offices, health facilities, and community sites to ensure services are delivered according to BPHS/EPHS standards.
  • Ensure the availability of trained staff, guidelines, tools, equipment, supplies, and IEC materials required for effective Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS programming.
  • Provide on-the-job technical support and capacity building to Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS staff to improve service quality and program management.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of trainings, capacity-building activities, and staff performance related to Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS.
  • Coordinate closely with MoPH, WHO, UNICEF, and other partners on Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS activities and initiatives.
  • Support integration of Nutrition, CDC, and MHPSS services within routine health services and community-based platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with MHCO safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA policies across all program areas.
  • Report any safeguarding, misconduct, or protection concerns in accordance with MHCO procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • MD (Medical Doctor), or related health qualification.
  • Master’s in Public Health or Nutrition, Epidemiology is an asset.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Nutrition, MHPSS and CDC services.
  • Experience in BPHS/EPHS implementation or humanitarian health projects preferred.
  • Experience in capacity building and supervision.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of MoPH policies, HMIS, Nutrition, HQIP and CDC services.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in Dari and Pashto; good command of English (written & spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
