About ANHDO:

Afghanistan National Horticulture Development Organization (ANHDO) is a national non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy and established in April 2009. The development of ANHDO is part of the European Union (EU) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) long term strategy for the development of the horticulture sector in Afghanistan. Since then, ANHDO has developed into an important institution for horticulture development by comparing among other skilled and experienced Afghan professional organizations in the horticulture sector. ANHDO is operating in close coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL) based on a separate Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Hence, ANHDO is a cornerstone of the long-term strategy for the development of the horticulture sector in Afghanistan.

 ANHDO is currently looking for    Provincial Coordinators for its project Agriculture Support Services for Farmers under the Water Emergency Relief Project (WERP) The project aims to improve agricultural production, productivity, and incomes of smallholder farmers in Takhar, Kunar, Laghman and Badakhshan provinces through sustainable, solar-powered irrigation schemes under the Water Emergency Relief Project (WERP) The project will support farmers by delivering capacity building and agricultural extension services, facilitating access to quality inputs, implementing cash-for-work activities for small-scale irrigation and on-farm infrastructure improvements, and strengthening market linkages. Key interventions include training on crop production, irrigation water management, soil fertility, integrated pest management (IPM), post-harvest handling, and value addition, alongside support for farmer organizations and access to markets.

Job Descriptions:

  • Oversee day-to-day provincial operations, ensuring smooth coordination with local authorities and stakeholders and securing necessary permissions
  • Supervise and mentor field teams, monitor performance, and ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including government, NGOs, and community partners, to strengthen program implementation
  • Support planning, monitoring, and evaluation of provincial activities to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and local regulations

Job Summary;

The Provincial Coordinators are responsible for overseeing and managing all field-level operations within the province to ensure effective implementation of programs. This role includes day-to-day coordination, stakeholder engagement, securing necessary permissions, and supervising field teams to ensure high-quality performance and timely reporting. The Provincial Coordinator also supports planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities, strengthens relationships with government, NGOs, and community partners, and ensures compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, Agribusiness Management, or a relevant discipline is preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, program management, or field operations, preferably in development or humanitarian projects.
  • Proven experience in supervising field teams and managing multiple stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and community groups
  • development or humanitarian projects, preferably in agriculture or livelihoods.
  • Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, Agribusiness Management, or a relevant discipline is preferred
  • Proven experience with donor-funded projects (e.g. UNDP, WFP, FAO, UNOPS etc.).
  • Fluency in English, Dari, and/or Pashto is required
