Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

The Liaison Intern will support the liaison team in managing external relations, assisting in the coordination of meetings, preparing communications, and supporting regulatory compliance efforts. The intern will gain hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, and institutional communications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing briefing materials, reports, and correspondence for external meetings and visits.
• Assist in coordinating and schedule meetings with government officials, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain updated contact databases and stakeholder engagement logs.
• Support follow-up on communications with external entities.
• Assist in tracking and compiling relevant government regulations, policies, or announcements
• Organize regular check-ins with interns to provide support, gather feedback, and ensure engagement.
• Contribute to internal coordination efforts with relevant departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education:

• Fresh Graduated from Law, Political Science, or a related field.

Skills:

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and with sensitive information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Fluency in Pashto, Dari and English
