Job Descriptions:

The Strong Families Program aims to strengthen family well-being, positive parenting practices, and child development through structured group sessions with caregivers and children. The Provincial Focal Point plays a critical role in ensuring the effective, accountable, and ethical implementation of the program at the provincial level, serving as a key liaison between the Main Office, trainers, community stakeholders, and beneficiary families.

The Focal Point is responsible for coordinating program activities at the provincial level, supporting trainers, monitoring implementation quality, managing financial and administrative processes, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. The role contributes to smooth program delivery, transparency, and positive outcomes for participating families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive program funds from the Main Office through approved banking channels.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and fair payment of trainers and participating families in line with approved policies and procedures.
  • Collect, verify, and organize all required financial documents (payment sheets, receipts, signatures etc…).
  • Submit complete and accurate financial documentation to the Main Office for review, filing, and record.
  • Collect, verify, and safely maintain accurate paper-based and electronic attendance sheets for each session.
  • Maintain up-to-date payment records linked to attendance and session completion.
  • Ensure records are properly archived and readily available for monitoring, reporting, or audits.
  • Ensure all training materials (flipcharts, banners, manuals, stationery, and other supplies) are well organized, safely stored, and available before each session.
  • Coordinate distribution, collection, and proper use of materials with trainers.
  • Report any shortages or damages to the Main Office in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on ongoing program cycles to ensure implementation aligns with program guidelines and schedules.
  • Verify that families are selected according to agreed vulnerability and eligibility criteria.
  • Ensure each cycle includes the standard number of participants (20 caregivers and their children), unless otherwise approved.
  • Ensure refreshments are distributed fairly and equally to all participating families during each session as a form of participation support.
  • Monitor appropriate and respectful distribution practices.
  • Ensure families receive session-based payments in a timely, transparent, and accountable manner.
  • Apply approved payment rates and obtain proper acknowledgment of receipt.
  • Take clear, appropriate photographs during sessions for reporting, monitoring, and learning purposes.
  • Ensure documentation complies with ethical standards, safeguarding principles, and consent requirements.
  • Compile brief session summaries and observations as required.
  • Participate in provincial and program coordination meetings.
  • Maintain regular communication with trainers, community representatives, and the Main Office.
  • Promptly raise implementation challenges, risks, or support needs.
  • Observe and record positive changes in family relationships, caregiver practices, and child well-being following completion of program cycles.
  • Support trainers in identifying families requiring additional follow-up or referral.
  • Identify families demonstrating positive outcomes and meaningful change.
  • Support the documentation of success stories and lessons learned for reporting, advocacy, and program improvement.
  • Ensure beneficiary information is accurate, complete, and regularly updated in the program database.
  • Cross-check data consistency between attendance sheets, payment records, and databases.
  • Carry out additional tasks related to the Strong Families Program as reasonably requested by WADAN.

Confidentiality, Safeguarding, PSEA, and Ethics

  • Fully respect the dignity, privacy, and rights of all families and children.
  • Protect personal and program information, sharing only with authorized staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and adhere to a zero-tolerance policy.
  • Uphold Child Safeguarding principles and prevent any form of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Report any concerns, incidents, or suspicious behavior promptly through WADAN reporting mechanisms.
  • Comply with all WADAN safeguarding, child protection, PSEA, and ethical guidelines and policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in BBA, Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in community-based programs, psychosocial support, child protection, or family-focused interventions.
  • Experience working with NGOs and familiarity with donor-funded project requirements is an asset.
  • Prior experience in coordination, monitoring, or field-level program management is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic financial and administrative skills, including record-keeping and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain accurate paper-based and electronic records.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with families, trainers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the province as required.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email, and data entry systems).
  • Fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto is required.
  • Basic English reading and writing skills are an advantage.
