Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sharing academic administrative activities with department faculty and staff and ensure that all university and faculty relevant policies and procedures are being practiced in a streamline fashion.
  • Plan new student’s entry process including; preparation of the entry test paper, arrange candidate’s interview, prepare and conduct orientation for new students and prepare class schedules for both new and existing students.
  • Disseminate schedules to the students and the faculty members in timely manner
  • Plan and arrange the examinations as per the academic calendar and ensure to conduct examination in an organized manner.
  • Ensure to collect student’s fee on the timely manner and ensure to implement all relevant fee regulations.
  • Orient the departmental policies and procedures to the new faculty members and staff, provide Management Information System (MIS) tutorials, and orient the role(s) they are expected to fulfill in the context of the department's educational objectives.
  • Ensuring that the Faculty and University deadlines are met for the course selection, uploading of the exam results in the MIS system and submission of the examination reports to the secrecy.
  • Ensuring that all faculty members complete their respective course outlines within the semester’s timeframe.
  • Closely supervise the examination and evaluation process and ensure the transparency and accuracy of the student’s internal and external assessments.
  • Ensuring that students are properly advised.
  • Supervise the staff and student relations within the department, and when necessary, participation in the resolution of grievances and disciplinary problems.
  • Resolve student’s quires on timely manner.
  • Ensure to transparently conduct and report lecturer evaluation to the program dean by the end of each semester.
  • Plan new faculty induction prior to the start of the new semester and ensure to arrange the required resources.
  • Act as a point of contact for the full-time faculty, visiting lecturers, staff and students, dealing with enquiries and providing support.
  • Establish, maintain and use clear and effective means of communication with the faculty, staff and students.
  • Ensure that copies of all forms are up to date and appropriately stocked for use by students and/or staff.
  • Coordinate with the University’s communication office in telling the departmental success stories.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD/Master (Computer Science/Data Science) with at least 3 years of teaching and administrative experience at an institution of higher education.
  • Strong organizational, management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach in English Language and command on any national language.
  • Degree must be attested by the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan.
  • At least 80% Master Degree Marks or B grade in case of foreign degree.
  • At least 75% Bachelor Degree Marks or B grade in case of foreign degree.
  • The Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees must demonstrate above 60% field consistency (Degree Relevance).
