Job Description

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the HMIS to ensure efficient and accurate data capture and reporting.
  • Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of health data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Manage HMIS team members, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with program managers, IT teams, and external partners to integrate HMIS with other health information systems.
  • Develop and maintain HMIS policies, SOPs, and data management protocols.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze health data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for program improvement.
  • Support health program monitoring and evaluation through data-driven insights.
  • Manage HMIS software and hardware infrastructure, coordinating with IT support for system upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, confidentiality, and security standards.
  • Stay updated with new developments and best practices in HMIS and health informatics.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HMIS, health data management, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of health information systems, databases, and data analysis tools (e.g., DHIS2, SQL, Excel, Tableau).
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other health data platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
  • Familiarity with health program monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws, ethical standards, and confidentiality protocols in healthcare.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
