Job Summary:

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is a senior executive responsible for managing and controlling all financial aspects of the group of companies under common ownership. the CFO will have authority over and visibility into the financial operations of all individual companies, ensuring consistent financial practices, strong internal controls, strategic financial planning, and full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the overall business objectives of all companies.
  • Prepare, review, and present accurate and timely standalone and consolidated financial statements.
  • Create financial forecasts and models to support long-term strategic planning.
  • Lead the monthly quarterly and annual budgeting process across all companies and monitor implementation.
  • Provide variance analysis with explanations for deviations from the budget or forecast.
  • Oversee financial operations and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
  • Manage inter-company transactions, reconciliations, and financial eliminations.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce internal financial controls across all companies.
  • Maintain financial records in compliance with local and international standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Ensure timely submission of tax returns, statutory filings, and regulatory reports for all entities.
  • Manage treasury operations, including bank accounts, fund transfers, and liquidity planning.
  • Develop and manage cash flow forecasting and optimize working capital across all businesses.
  • Negotiate and manage banking relationships, credit lines, and financing agreements.
  • Supervise the payroll process and ensure alignment with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Ensure timely payment of salaries, supplier invoices, tax liabilities, and other financial obligations.
  • Prepare and present management reports, dashboards, and KPIs for executive decision-making.
  • Drive cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for financial efficiency.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with auditors for external audits and ensure timely completion with clean audit opinions.
  • Lead internal audit reviews and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Oversee tax structuring and planning to optimize group tax position and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure VAT/GST filings, withholding tax, and other obligations are submitted correctly and on time.
  • Monitor changes in financial legislation and ensure compliance with updated regulations.
  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of ERP/financial systems across all companies.
  • Ensure proper asset management and control, including fixed asset registers and depreciation.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as business expansions, capital projects, and new company setups.
  • Lead the financial due diligence process for acquisitions, joint ventures, or partnerships.
  • Participate in contract review processes from a financial and risk perspective.
  • Implement financial policies and SOPs across companies for consistency and control.
  • Manage financial delegations of authority and approval matrices.
  • Lead and mentor finance teams in each company, ensuring performance, training, and development.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing between finance teams across companies.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data and systems.
  • Represent the finance function in management and board meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of board packs and investor presentations.
  • Maintain relationships with external advisors including auditors, tax consultants, lawyers, and regulators.
  • Manage company insurance policies and ensure adequate coverage is maintained.
  • Oversee financial aspects of procurement and contract negotiation.
  • Collaborate with IT and HR to ensure alignment on financial impacts of operational decisions.
  • Provide financial training and support to non-finance staff and department heads.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on all financial matters, strategy, and risk.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA) is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years in senior financial management roles, with experience managing finances across multiple entities.
  • Deep knowledge of financial reporting, tax, audit, regulatory frameworks, and financial systems.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic mindset.
