About Afghan Health and Development Services(AHDS):

Afghan Health and Development Services (AHDS) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization founded by Afghans on April 7th, 1990.  AHDS is an active member of the Afghan NGOs Coordination Bureau (ANCB), the Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief (ACBAR), and the Alliance of Health Organizations (AHO). AHDS is one of the first signatories of the Codes of Conduct for NGOs engaged in humanitarian action, reconstruction, and development in Afghanistan.

The main office: AHDS is registered as a national NGO with the Ministry of Economy – Afghanistan. The registration number (5) was renewed on 25 Aug 2005 (old number 219 on 18 Nov 1999). Its TIN is 100 005 5 010.

Job Descriptions:

Overall management of provincial Hospital, supporting of the Hospital team  in accomplishing of the objectives according to the EPHS policy .

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement organization policies, procedures and its follow up by project staff (HR,FIN,LOG),  and act accordingly.
  2. Responsible for leading, implementation, supervision, monitoring, evaluations, coordination, reporting EPHS services at PH.
  3.   Responsible for follow up of Hospital deliverables and indicators, management and follow up of P4P at PH.
  4. Responsible for HMIS data processing analysis, Monthly monitoring and evaluation of performance indicators and progress.
  5. Follow up of Drug supply and Medical expendables in the hospital and assistance, administrative section for facilitating of the process.
  6. Implementing the EPHS services in line with MoPH policies and standards.
  7. Lead the Hospital team to be up dated of the Hospital activities progress, preparing of regular monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual report.
  8.  To support in charge of Hospital departments for strengthening supervision and management of Hospital.
  9. Ensure a professional technical atmosphere among the team to develop/identify, implement and supervise the EPHS required standard services. 
  10. Coordinate and Follow the implementation of PH work plan activities and objectives by different sections.
  11. Develop plans (supervision plans, quality improvement, in service training) with team, supervise the implementation of the plan and give timely feedback.
  12. Direct supervision of PH management team and PH performances and records based on P4P Guideline.
  13. Compile the PH team activities reports and achievements and prepare the Hospital technical reports and staff performance rating to project administrative department on monthly bases.
  14. Finalize the PH activities report and achievements and PH staff performance rating to administrative department on monthly bases.
  15. Ensure active Hospital supplies chain (materials, pharmaceuticals) to the PH  through set channels and regulations.
  16. Ensure the implementation of the quality improvement in PH and its follow up by different sections.
  17. Implement the PH action plans, made by PO, HQ and MOPH and its follow up.
  18. Participate in PO management and technical meetings and lead management and Tech. meetings of PH and provide feed backs.
  19. Responsible for coordination with all district hospital and CHC+ in the project.
  20. Provide Tech advice and Support to cluster supervisors in proper implementation of hospital services in DHs.
  21. Promote an attitude of team spirit and a strong focus on quality among the members of the departments.

Do whatever job, related to the project, delegated by supervisors.

Job Requirements:

Medical Degree (MD) Master’s degree in public health (or a related field)

5 years of experience managing health services delivery and hospital management.
