About the Job

Responsible for providing technical support and coordination of all MHPSS activities under the line management in the target provinces

Job Responsibilities 

Interventions projects progress                                

Support the development and/or adaptation of methodologies and the creation of technical resources, including full training packages (training needs assessment tools, training manuals and materials, pre-post training tests), users’ guidelines, etc. Train the project’s partners and relevant actors and stakeholders on the methodologies and resources of MHPSS intervention. Coordinate supervision of staff delivering MHPSS activities and share the supervision reports with direct line manager. Coordinate the implementation of MHPSS activities, such as assessments, trainings, awareness campaigns, referrals, case management, and psychosocial interventions.

Timeliness and quality of reports                              

Ensure that the project data and documents are received on time, providing feedback to partner staff, as deems necessary. Plan and produce activity reports and contribute to the production of the donor report as appropriate.

Parts of programs and project proposals                   

Develop lessons learning exercises, data collection and analysis, and identify good practices under the project. Facilitate the field implementation of project evaluations and research. Contribute to the project proposals, as required.

Planning, monitoring and evaluation                        

Participate in monitoring and evaluations relating to the quality of MHPSS and partners’ activities. regularly extract specific data from the project documents sent by partners’ staff, and send it along with analysis of this data, to the line manager and other relevant staff.

Result communication and open data                       

Collect and filter necessary information for open data sources; deliver good qualitative information to the management in time; develop case studies and success stories to illustrate changes induced by the project and for communication use.

Monitoring of partners                                            

Monitor and assess the progress of projects in relation to the formulated goals; review existing monitoring tools to ensure MHPSS interventions are being carried out in compliance with international guidelines and best practices.

Capacity of partners with regard to accountability     

Assesses the capacity of (new) partners. Update the training material tailored to the particular MHPSS intervention and modify as required in collaboration with key cluster specialists. Provide ongoing support to technical staff capacity-building activities, and health responders, in providing quality services. Provide orientation and training to all field staff on MHPSS.

1. MD or Bachelor’s degree, preferably post-graduate studies in Psychology, Social Protection, Mental Health, or a related field; understanding of Mental Health issues, including common disorders, symptoms, and treatment approaches; appropriate understanding of international MHPSS programming/ best practices and  guidelines; understanding of the local context, cultural norms, and social dynamics within the community; understanding of the broader health system, including the roles of different stakeholders, service delivery structures, and referral mechanisms; strong substantive, technical, programmatic, and preferably research skills in MHPSS; and basic knowledge of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

2. Ability to providing guidance, support, and motivation to achieve project goals; strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to design and deliver training sessions effectively, transferring knowledge and building the capacity of project staff and partners.

3. A minimum of 4 years of experience with direct psycho-pedagogical service provision.; experience with vulnerable groups, preferably refugees, migrants, and persons with disabilities populations will be an asset.

An assessment phase can be part of the selection procedure. The assessment phase usually consists of a technical assessment followed by a competency-based written test and two interviews. However, there may be exceptions for a second interview,  depending on the specific functions of a position.
