HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  1. Community Engagement & Awareness:
  • Visiting target communities to raise awareness and encourage participation in the surveys & assessment process throughout.
  • Building trust and fostering community acceptance and support for the study.
  • Contacting households, explaining the purpose and benefits of the surveys, and obtaining informed consent forms.
  • Delivering blood test results and other documents to participants in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Collaborating with other team members, reporting progress to the Field Supervisors, and addressing any challenges to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhering to research protocols, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring the privacy of participant information.
  1. Data Collection:
  • Collaborate with the research team in collecting data through surveys
  • Ensure accurate recording of data and follow ethical guidelines during the collection process.
  1. Reporting & Feedback:
  • Provide regular feedback to the research team on-field activities and participant engagement.
  • Assist in compiling field reports and data summaries.
  • Provide guidance and support to field staff to ensure adherence to protocols and timelines.
  • Resolve any challenges or issues that may arise during fieldwork.
  • Weekly reports.
  1. Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Assist in any additional tasks as required by the study or field operations.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor in relation to the Research Department and Center for IMPACT project.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in community mobilization and field coordination.
  • At least one year of experience in social mobilization and data collection.
  • A minimum of 14th grade completed; a degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Allied Health Sciences or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and supervise a team effectively.
  • Experience in data collection methods and ensuring data quality.
  • Familiar with ODK or similar software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
