HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  • Conducting pre-visit household screenings one day prior to data collection to identify eligible participants.
  • Identifying and compiling a list of eligible participants within selected blocks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct data collection using the ODK.
  • Ensure accurate and ethical data collection following study protocols.
  • Conducting anthropometric measurements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of the collected data.
  • Ensure proper handling and functionality of data collection devices.
  • Coordinate with the field supervisor to address challenges in data collection.
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants before data collection.
  • Report any issues encountered during data collection to the supervisor.
  • Supporting the Project Coordinators with daily planning and field activities.
  • Working closely with other team members, such as social mobilizers and phlebotomists, to ensure the smooth execution of project activities.   
  • Weekly reporting to the Field Supervisors. 
  • Monitoring and reporting of any suspected or expected adverse outcome or event during field assessments.
  • Compiling, recording, and coding information into a predefined database for tabulation and analysis.
  • Maintaining data in draft form until all information is collected and complete.
  • Ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and proper organization.
  • Reviewing and verifying that all questions have been answered, and responses are legibly and accurately recorded.
  • Submitting completed forms in a timely manner.
  • Data Entry
  • Assist in any additional tasks as required by the study or field operations.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor in relation to the Research Department and Center for IMPACT project.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Allied Health Sciences, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least one year of experience in data collection using ODK or similar platforms.
  • Experience in research.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow research protocols and research ethics.
  • Fluency in Dari and Pashto
  • Intermediate level of English Language
  • Familiarity with office packages (Word, Excel)
