Johanniter International Assistance. (www.johanniter-int.org) is a German non-governmental organisation, dedicated to excellence in the field of first aid, ambulance service, social service programmes and other projects in the medical and social field. The Federal Headquarters are based in Berlin, Germany. Johanniter International Assistance is the operational unit for humanitarian aid, development co-operation and emergency relief, implementing and supporting mostly health projects worldwide.

Johanniter is working is Afghanistan since October 2002 providing emergency aid, rehabilitation of health facilities, medical care and capacity building for community health workers, students, teachers and professionals of NGOs and government agencies in disaster preparedness and first aid skills. Johanniter’s country office is located in Kabul and has operational coverage in the North, Northeastern and central region with possibility of expansion in the South and Western provinces of Afghanistan.

Job Summary / Purpose:

To be a senior officer supervisor/clinical lead on the Mobile Health & Nutrition team (MHNT) providing integrated health and nutrition services to targeted communities. Provide outpatient consultation for women and children, supporting the team to deliver high quality care according to standard guidelines and best practice. Oversee provision of IMNCI, RH (ANC, PNC & FP), Nutrition, injury and trauma care and community health activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Overall implementation, supervision and leadership for the BHC clinic.
2. Provide outpatient consultation for women and children under 5.
3. Provide clinical lead supporting nurse and midwife, Nutrition nurse, EPI nurse to manage cases and ensure high quality of care delivered.
4. Direct involvement in clinical care delivered in the BHC treatment of childhood illness, vaccination screening, RH (ANC, PNC & FP), and trauma care as first aid support including first dosage of treatment and urgent referral in the assigned locations.
5. Ensure all staff in the health team are following national guidelines and organizational protocols.
6. Coordinate with existing Community Health structures (Health Shura) and health promotional communication, in the assigned catchment areas.
7. Ensure daily data collection process is followed and recorded for all curative health activities.
8. Establish appropriate clinical referral pathways from each mobile site to appropriate facilities.
9. Ensure medicine stock management at clinic site correctly managed and submit time stock requests to logs team for medicine, supplies, and equipment.
10. Any other activities not listed in the JD but requested by line manager and Health & Nutrition Program Health Manager.

Education:

MD Degree from a recognized medical University.

Experience:

Minimum three to five years of work experience at a similar position.

Language Professions:

Proficiency in English and Dari or Pashto is required.
