About ACDO:

Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2014 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan under the supervision of Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved people throughout the country.

ACDO responds to the needs of deprived and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scarce resources in a well-organized, efficient, effective, transparent, and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, health services, and infrastructure, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.

ACDO has an active presence in most parts of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces, as to transform itself into a leading and developed organization that will deliver to and support large number of people who have been affected by the long-protracted and sudden on-set emergencies and regardless of the hardest circumstances that exist in Afghanistan, ACDO has managed to deliver humanitarian and development assistance in most part of country.

Job Descriptions:

  • Work in collaboration with the Safeguarding Officer in implementing, monitoring, and reporting on child protection and safeguarding policies/CoC.
  • Facilitate awareness sessions for teachers, students, school shuras, community members, and volunteers on child safeguarding, reporting mechanisms, and abuse prevention.
  • Receive, document, and classify child protection cases and refer them to responsible authorities while ensuring strict confidentiality.
  • Conduct regular visits to CBE and Remedial classes to monitor the learning environment and interact with children.
  • Systematically collect information about at-risk children, including children with disabilities, orphans, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records of reports and activities
  • Support in risk assessments and contribute to the development of risk mitigation and response plans.
  • Prepare regular activity reports and participate in relevant internal and external safeguarding meetings.
  • Ensure that teachers, staff, and volunteers prevent abuse, neglect, or any violation of children’s rights.
  • Engage with parents and community members to gather feedback and raise awareness about Safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Provide training and capacity-building for staff, volunteers, and partners on child protection principles and safeguarding procedures.
  • Support community-based child protection mechanisms and awareness campaigns.
  • Work with local authorities, schools, and child protection actors to strengthen referral pathways.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold child-centred approaches in all activities.
  • Participate regularly in provincial level safeguarding meetings and coordinate with reporting line to address child protection concerns.
  • Build trust with communities to encourage open discussions on safeguarding risks
  • Promote community-based safeguarding mechanisms
  • Collaborate with elders, shuras, and religious leaders to advocate for child and vulnerable persons’ rights
  • Perform any other safeguarding-related duties assigned by the Safeguarding Officer or Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Child Protection, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in child protection, safeguarding, or related work in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • understanding of child rights, protection principles, and safeguarding standards.
  • Experience working with local communities, especially with children and vulnerable populations.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information and respond effectively to protection incidents.

Language & Computer Skills:

  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English is an asset.
  • Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, reporting tools).
