About (CHA), Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance موسسه همکاری

Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through the implementation of Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with the rehabilitation of rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

Job Description

Deliver practical training on traditional and modern silk weaving techniques.

 Demonstrate loom setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Train participants on yarn preparation, weaving patterns, tension control, and finishing.

Introduce improved weaving techniques to enhance productivity and product quality.

Train participants on quality control and identification of weaving defects.

Ensure proper and safe use of looms, tools, and other equipment.

 Assess trainees' skills and provide individual technical support.

Maintain attendance and training progress records.

 Coordinate with the project team on training schedules and materials.

Promote women's and men's participation in accordance with the project objectives.}

 Perform other relevant duties assigned by the organization.

Job Requirements

Candidates with proven practical experience and strong hands-on technical skills in sericulture and silk production will be given preference.

 Diploma, vocational qualification, or relevant technical training in weaving, textiles, handicrafts, or a related field.

 At least 3 years of practical experience in silk weaving.

Proven experience operating and maintaining weaving looms.

Experience in training or mentoring is preferred.

Strong knowledge of traditional and improved weaving techniques.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to conduct practical demonstrations and provide hands-on technical coaching.

 Willingness to travel frequently to project locations.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English with working knowledge.
