Job Responsibilities Job Responsibilities Job Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases, maps, and spatial datasets for project planning and implementation.
- Conduct GIS-based spatial analysis to support environmental assessments, land-use planning, and site selection processes.
- Prepare high-quality thematic maps, geospatial reports, and data visualizations for technical and management purposes.
- Carry out environmental screening and assessments in accordance with project requirements and applicable environmental regulations.
- Identify and analyze environmental risks and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support the selection of project sites through environmental and geospatial analysis.
- Collect, verify, and manage spatial and environmental data from field surveys, satellite imagery, GPS devices, and other relevant sources.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of GIS and environmental datasets.
- Prepare environmental monitoring reports and provide recommendations for sustainable project implementation.
- Coordinate with project teams, government authorities, and stakeholders on GIS and environmental matters.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field teams regarding GIS data collection and environmental compliance.
- Assist in developing environmental management plans, monitoring frameworks, and environmental safeguard documentation.
- Conduct field visits to verify spatial data, assess environmental conditions, and monitor project activities.
- Maintain proper documentation and archiving of GIS products, environmental assessments, and related technical reports.
- Support capacity-building activities and training related to GIS applications, environmental management, and data collection tools.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and national environmental standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or supervisor related to GIS and environmental management.

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Environmental Science or related discipline
Professional experience:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in GIS mapping and environmental assessment
• Experience in spatial analysis, environmental screening and site selection
Language:
• Fluency in Pashto and Dari is required
• Proficiency in oral and written English is required.
