About Welfare Organization for Rehabilitation, Livelihood & Development

WORLD is a non-government, non-political and non-profit development organization that is established by a group of young and energetic people who were highly motivated and committed for contributing their time, skills and energies for the development and empowerment of socially disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Afghanistan to address poverty and gender based discriminations.

Job Description

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Manager & mSupply Officer is responsible for overseeing all pharmacy operations, ensuring the availability of quality medicines, and managing the mSupply system for effective inventory control. The role ensures compliance with national regulations and organizational policies while promoting rational use of medicines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pharmacy Management

  • Manage daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, storage, and stock management
  • Ensure continuous availability of essential medicines and medical supplies
  • Supervise pharmacy staff and provide guidance and training
  • Ensure proper storage conditions according to pharmaceutical standards (FEFO/FIFO)
  • Monitor drug usage and prevent stock-outs or overstocking

2. mSupply System Management

  • Operate and manage the mSupply system for inventory and reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry of all stock transactions
  • Generate regular reports (stock status, consumption, expiry tracking)
  • Maintain data integrity and troubleshoot basic system issues
  • Train staff on mSupply usage and ensure compliance

3. Inventory & Supply Chain Management

  • Forecast medicine and supply needs based on consumption trends
  • Prepare and submit timely requisitions and orders
  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor stock levels and expiry dates to minimize wastage
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with mSupply data

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all medicines meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pharmacy activities
  • Ensure compliance with Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) guidelines
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting systems

5. Reporting

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly pharmacy reports
  • Report stock status, consumption, and any discrepancies
  • Provide data for audits and donor reporting requirements

6. Coordination

  • Coordinate with medical staff regarding medicine use and availability
  • Work closely with logistics and procurement teams
  • Support clinical teams in rational drug use and treatment protocols

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Pharm-D 
  • Registered with relevant pharmacy council (if applicable)

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pharmacy management
  • Experience working with NGOs or hospital settings preferred
  • Proven experience using mSupply system

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical management and supply chain
  • Proficiency in mSupply and Microsoft Office
  • Good leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills (English and local languages)

Languages

  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Dari and/or Pashto

Safeguarding Information means protecting people—especially children and vulnerable adults—from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It is commonly used in organizations like NGOs, schools, hospitals, and community programs.
