Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, with Registration Number 4388 dated February 18, 2018. SSEOA works in the fields of education, health, and livelihood in the remote regions of Afghanistan. Job Description

The Field Monitor will support the monitoring of school feeding activities at the field level, ensuring that food distribution (Bread and High Energy Biscuits – HEB) is carried out efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with WFP and SSEOA guidelines. The role involves regular field visits, data collection, verification, and reporting on project implementation in assigned districts.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Field Monitoring & Supervision

• Conduct regular visits to assigned schools and distribution sites to monitor school feeding activities.
• Observe and verify distribution of Bread and HEB to ensure compliance with approved plans and standards.
• Ensure that food is distributed to the right beneficiaries in the correct quantities.
• Monitor attendance of students and linkage with school feeding activities.

Data Collection & Reporting

• Collect accurate field data including attendance sheets, distribution records, and beneficiary information.
• Verify records maintained at school level (stock registers, distribution lists, etc.).
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring reports.
• Report any discrepancies, delays, or irregularities immediately to the MEAL Team Leader.

Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM)

• Conduct post-distribution monitoring to assess the effectiveness and utilization of food assistance.
• Collect feedback from students, teachers, and communities.
• Identify challenges and provide recommendations for improvement.

Accountability &

suggestions from communities.

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with school staff, community leaders, and project teams during monitoring activities.
• Support logistics and distribution teams during food delivery when required.
• Assist MEAL team during surveys, assessments, and evaluations.

Compliance & Safeguarding

  • • Ensure all activities comply with WFP guidelines and SSEOA policies.
    • Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA principles.
    • Ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability during monitoring activities.
    • Report any protection concerns, misconduct, or misuse of resources immediately

Job Requirements

  • At least high school diploma; bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field is preferred.
  •  Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in field monitoring, data collection, or project implementation.
  • Experience with NGOs or humanitarian projects is preferred.
  • Experience in food distribution or school feeding programs is an asset.
  • Familiarity with local areas of Nuristan is highly preferred.
  • Strong observation and reporting skills.
  •  Basic data collection and documentation skills.
  •  Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
  • Attention to detail and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office).
