About Afghanistan Social and Legal Organization (ASLO)

ASLO is registered with Ministry of Economy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.  Registration number (2852) was awarded to ASLO through NGOs Department of Ministry of Economy Kabul Afghanistan.

Job Description

1. Financial Management & Accounting

  • Record and process all financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Prepare and review payment requests, advances, and liquidations.
  • Maintain cashbooks and ensure daily cash reconciliation.
  • Support monthly and periodic financial closing activities.

2. Budget Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project budgets at the field level and track expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Support preparation of monthly financial reports for head office.
  • Flag any budget variances or potential overspending to the Finance Manager.
  • Assist program staff in budget follow-up and financial planning.

3. Cash & Bank Management

  • Manage petty cash and ensure proper cash handling procedures.
  • Prepare bank withdrawal requests and support bank transactions.
  • Conduct regular bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Ensure secure handling of cash and financial documents.

4. Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure donor compliance in all financial transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing complete and accurate documentation.
  • Identify financial risks at field level and report to management.

5. Procurement & Payments Support

  • Support procurement processes by reviewing financial aspects of procurement requests.
  • Verify supplier invoices and supporting documents before payment.
  • Prepare payment vouchers for vendors, staff, and service providers.
  • Ensure timely salary and incentive payments in coordination with HR.

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate closely with program, logistics, and admin teams at field level.
  • Liaise with head office finance team for reporting and guidance.
  • Provide basic financial guidance to non-finance staff when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, preferably in NGOs or field offices.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Experience working with donor-funded projects is an advantage.
  • Good computer skills (MS Excel, Word, accounting software if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
