Project Manager

Organization for Research, Community Development (ORCD) is a nationally registered, non-profit organization operating in Afghanistan. ORCD is committed to improving the well-being and resilience of vulnerable communities through integrated programming in education, livelihoods, protection, health, and community development. With operational presence across multiple provinces, ORCD implements community-based, inclusive, and sustainable interventions that prioritize women, youth, and displacement-affected populations. ORCD has experience partnering with UN agencies, international donors, and government counterparts, ensuring transparent implementation, strong monitoring and evaluation, and measurable impact at scale.

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for the implementation of the Community-Based Skills Development and Literacy Training project across Balkh, Baghlan, Kabul, Kunar, Ghazni, Nangarhar and Bamyan provinces  The position holder will ensure effective delivery of activities in line with UN standards, timelines, quality benchmarks, and reporting requirements.

1.  Education

• University Degree in Education, Education Management, Law, or a related field

2. Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of proven work experience as a Project Manager 

• Experience must be in projects of similar intervention/scope in education in Afghanistan

3. Institutional/Donor Experience

• Demonstrated experience working with:

  • Government (national and sub-national levels)

  • UN organizations

  • International development or aid agencies

4 Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of up-to-date trends and best practices in emergency support services

• Good IT skills

5. Language Requirements

• Proficiency in English

• Proficiency in Dari and/or Pashto
