Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) is an Afghan NGO working in the sectors of formal education support, community education, women empowerment, child protection, WASH, nutrition/cash transfer, migration, livelihood support, capacity building, advocacy and infrastructure rehabilitation.

SHAO was established in 2009 after receiving working license from Afghan Ministry of Economy. The main office is located in Kabul with access to Kandahar, Helmand, Urozgan, Nimroz, Kunduz and Zabul provinces.

Field Coordination Officer is responsible for the coordination of the importance of literacy and education and creating demand for SDL (Skills development and Literacy) programs. They are also required to support the smooth running of SDL, courses in their respective province, districts and communities in collaboration with the related local authorities, community elders, religious scholars, and other community members.

The Field Coordination Officer will be directly responsible to Head of Programs (HOP) through the project coordination, planning, implementation, reporting and monitoring and Evaluation of the activities and project. Project officer will build up the current project and work closely with HOP, donor agency and government related ministries and directorates.

• The applicant must have Bachelor Degree is required; Master is preferred.
• It is required to have a minimum of five years general work experience.
• Minimum three years of feild coordination experience.  Knowledge and experience of M&E tools, methodologies and approaches (quantitative, qualitative and participatory) is required.
• Medium level knowledge of spoken and written English is required; advanced knowledge is highly preferred.
• Excellent language proficiency in spoken and written Dari and Pashto.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office package and the Internet are required.
• Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team to undertake tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and be organized.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
• Self-disciplined and motivated critical thinker who is willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel to field in region as required/directed.
