Health, Disability and Development Organization (HDDO) is a national nonprofit and nonpolitical organization which has been registered with Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan in 07 January 2020 with the aims to advocate, promote and facilitate the Economic empowerment, socioeconomic reintegration, Physical rehabilitation, provision of health, education and livelihood support to the most marginalized, hard to reach and underserved population of the Country including person with disabilities, victims of war, mine  and ERW in Afghanistan. HDDO is committed to play active role in the humanitarian response to the neediest population in the Country and at the same time to contribute in the development and reconstruction of the Country as well. The vision of HDDO is to Promote and sustain educated, prosperous, peaceful, gender and disability sensitive society, where people, especially women, disabled and youth have access to better healthcare, disability and physical rehabilitation, play a key role in inclusive and sustainable development and to make sure that every and each of them is an active member in the societies. The HDDO main principle is the community based inclusive approaches to involve local communities and the target group in the design, implementation and monitoring of the project and that is why HDDO is fully relying on local resources and local capacity in the targeted communities.

GENERAL Responsibilities:

Job Description:

  • Administer vaccines to eligible individuals following the recommended immunization schedule.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of vaccines to maintain their effectiveness.
  • Maintain the cold chain by monitoring and recording vaccine temperatures.
  • Educate parents, guardians, and the community about the benefits of vaccination and the diseases it prevents.
  • Provide information on potential side effects and the importance of completing the full vaccination schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of vaccinations administered, including patient information, type of vaccine, and date of administration.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on vaccination coverage and any adverse events following immunization.
  • Participate in community outreach activities to promote vaccination and increase coverage rates.
  • Work with community leaders and health workers to identify and reach populations with low vaccination rates.
  • Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols during vaccine administration to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
  • Dispose of used syringes and medical waste according to established procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or another relevant health field with Exit Test Result.
  • Certification in immunization practices or related training.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in vaccination or immunization programs.
  • Knowledge of national immunization guidelines and cold chain management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment and Dedication:

  • Willingness to travel to remote or underserved areas for vaccination campaigns.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety during vaccine administration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Willingness to work outside official hours
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote or underserved areas as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both national language (Dari & Pashto) oral and written
  • Fluency in English is a must both oral and written
