Job Descriptions:

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop a clear action plan for training all targeted beneficiaries.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination and communication between the project team, community representatives, and other stakeholders at the district levels.
  • Facilitate the training in the local language and more in a participatory manner.
  • Prepare training modules, handouts, and visual aids  and conduct training sessions that cover the essentials Wheat and summer crop cultivation, Fodder crop production, Backyard vegetable gardening, Diary production and milking kit hygiene, Sustainable farming practices like composting, organic fertilizer use, and pest control as well as Nutrition food preparation.
  • Evaluate the knowledge and skills of farmers who received training to make sure that the training approach is in accurate manner.
  • Prepare and develop training reports for each training session and general training report.
  • Showcase best practices in Home gardening, including composting, organic pest control, crop rotation, Land preparation, seed cultivation methods, use Chemical and organic (manure) fertilizer application and emphasize sustainable and environmentally friendly approaches to gardening.
  • The Trainer will implement theoretical training in very simple and easy manner to improve the knowledge and skills of the farmers on Agricultural product safety, hygiene, and sanitation.
  • Design training, training tools, and materials on the level of local communities on vegetable process and production.
  • Address questions, concerns, and challenges raised by the beneficiaries, offering practical solutions and troubleshooting advice regarding Home gardening & Agricultural fresh vegetable product processing practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and/ Horticulture
  • Permanent residence in one of the three districts: Baraki Barak, Charkh or Pole Alam city.
  • Excellent command of local languages (Dari and Pashto)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in wheat, summer crop, and fodder crop cultivation; home gardening and vegetable production; and sustainable and organic farming practices.
  • Previous experience in conducting training for farmers, especially on agriculture, livestock, and dairy processing, Experience with the Farmer Field School (FFS) approach is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver training content and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with local climatic conditions, gardening challenges, and suitable vegetable varieties for the target location.
  • availability to travel to the training locations.
