In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:

  • To make all necessary reagents based on daily need.
  • Safely collection and proper checking of the samples
  • To exam according to the technical instructions.
  • Performing and interpreting complex blood analyses to determine compatibility with potential recipients.
  • Collecting, processing, and storing blood and blood products according to established procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all blood bank activities, including donations, test results, recipient documents and distribution.
  • Ensuring the quality control and maintenance of Blood bank equipment and supplies.
  • Communicating test results to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Staying current with the latest developments in blood banking and transfusion medicine.
  • Participate in provision of 24-hour, six-day Blood bank service, and duty roster based on Torkhom Emergency hospital rule and regulation.
  • Proper and safe waste disposal of Blood bank.
  • To conduct individual health education sessions with the clients.
  • To keep proper recording and documentation of Blood Bank Activities.
  • Maintain the integrity of the specimen during handling and processing.
  • Report of Blood bank results in a timely manner.
  • Participate in research, professional organizations and related committees and in continuing education opportunities.
  • Take part in other activities given by line manager

Management:

  • Attending all necessary meeting, workshop and training
  • Identify and report immediately any problem which interferes in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to his/her immediate supervisor.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
  • Organizing, managing and controlling daily relevant Blood bank activities.
  • To ensure correct and on time submission of Blood Bank, Related reports according to national MOPH Blood Bank Policy
  • Requesting the MCH related materials to the manager on the right time.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from recognized institute (Medical Technologist).
  • Must be passed Exit Exam and attached Result documents of exit exam with CV.
  • More the 2-year experience in the same position.
  • Fluency spoken written and reading local languages.
