About ORCDG:

ORCD Global Inc. is a U.S. based non-governmental, and not-for-profit founded in 2017. ORCDG was registered in the State of California, United States of America (USA) on 05 November 2017 (Registration No: C4076735). Later, it was registered as an international organization in Afghanistan in December 2018 (Registration number 460).

ORCDG has so far implemented 21 projects in various provinces of Afghanistan, and  currently has around 6 ongoing projects in Kabul, Paktya, Parwan, Baghlan, Ghazni, Paktika and Kunduz provinces.

Job Descriptions:

1. Background

The (ORCDG) is committed to documenting, promoting, and disseminating its programs, advocacy campaigns, and community development initiatives through effective media production. To strengthen the visibility and impact of our work, ORCDG seeks a highly skilled and creative Video Editor with strong videography expertise who can transform raw footage into compelling audio-visual products tailored for various platforms.

2. Purpose of the Position

The Video Editor will play a dual role of videographer and editor, ensuring the production of high-quality, engaging, and professional video content that aligns with the organization’s mission, values, and communication strategies.

3. Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Operate professional cameras to capture institutional, advocacy, and project-related activities.
  • Edit raw footage into well-structured, visually appealing, and narrative-driven videos.
  • Apply advanced editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects or equivalent tools.
  • Conduct audio editing (noise reduction, balancing, adding effects) using Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar software.
  • Ensure accurate knowledge and handling of video formats and codecs (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, H.264, H.265, ProRes).
  • Perform color correction and grading to enhance visual quality and cinematic style.
  • Design and integrate motion graphics, titles, transitions, and animations.

Creative Duties

  • Maintain effective storytelling across all video projects, ensuring that the organizational message is clear and impactful.
  • Apply effective cutting, pacing, and rhythm to maintain audience engagement.
  • Utilize design principles for visual harmony (typography, color balance, composition).
  • Suggest innovative approaches to video content production for greater outreach and audience impact.

Work & Team Skills

  • Collaborate closely with the Media Team, Director, and field staff to capture required footage.
  • Manage time effectively to deliver projects within deadlines.
  • Accept and implement feedback constructively and adapt edits accordingly.
  • Organize and archive project files, media assets, and backups systematically.

Extra Skills (Desirable)

  • Familiarity with social media content requirements (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Understanding of communication for marketing, outreach, and advocacy purposes.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies, including AI tools, plugins, and new editing trends.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Film Production, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in videography and video editing.
  • Proven expertise with industry-standard editing software and audio tools.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating advanced editing, color grading, and motion graphics skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills.
