About ORCDG:

ORCD Global Inc. is a U.S. based non-governmental, and not-for-profit founded in 2017. ORCDG was registered in the State of California, United States of America (USA) on 05 November 2017 (Registration No: C4076735). Later, it was registered as an international organization in Afghanistan in December 2018 (Registration number 460).ORCDG has so far implemented 21 projects in various provinces of Afghanistan, and  currently has around 6 ongoing projects in Kabul, Paktya, Parwan, Baghlan, Ghazni, Paktika and Kunduz provinces.

Job Descriptions:

1. Background

ORCDG is a non-governmental organization committed to delivering humanitarian and development programs across Afghanistan. Effective media and communication coverage is central to our advocacy, donor engagement, and visibility. In this regard, ORCDG seeks to recruit a qualified Media Worker who is proficient both in reporting and visual documentation.

2. Purpose of the Position

The Media Worker will play a key role in documenting project activities, preparing timely and accurate reports, and producing high-quality visual materials (photos and videos). This position requires a combination of strong journalistic writing skills and technical expertise in photography, ensuring that the organization’s activities are communicated effectively to stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the donor community.

3. Key Responsibilities

The Media Worker will be responsible for the following duties:

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare accurate, timely, and engaging weekly reports on organizational and project activities.
  • Draft narrative and feature reports aligned with donor requirements and advocacy objectives.
  • Ensure written outputs are clear, professional, and factually accurate.
  • Maintain an archive of all media reports and publications.

Photography & Videography

  • Capture high-quality photographs and videos of project activities, events, and field missions.
  • Ensure photography adheres to professional standards, highlighting key thematic areas and human-interest stories.
  • Edit and prepare visual materials suitable for use in reports, websites, social media, and donor communications.
  • Maintain a digital archive of photo and video content.

Communication & Advocacy

  • Support advocacy campaigns by providing compelling stories, visuals, and field-based testimonies.
  • Ensure compliance with donor visibility guidelines and branding requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of newsletters, press releases, and media briefs.
  • Support the promotion of organizational visibility across platforms (online and offline).

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in journalism, reporting, or communication within NGOs or media organizations.
    • Strong portfolio in photography and/or videography.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Excellent knowledge of camera handling, lighting, and editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc.).
    • Strong writing and reporting skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Other Skills:
    • Familiarity with donor community requirements and visibility standards.
    • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari (written and spoken).
