Job Description:
Rupani Foundation Afghanistan, in partnership with UNWFP, is implementing vocational training programs to enhance food security and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. As part of this initiative, the Agriculture Product Trainer will provide hands-on training in agricultural product processing, focusing on adding value to locally available produce.
General Responsibilities:
About the Role:
The Agriculture Product Trainer will train beneficiaries in both theoretical and practical aspects of processing agricultural products. The trainer will demonstrate how to transform fruits and vegetables (e.g., apples, tomatoes) into value-added products such as pickles, sauces, juices, and dried fruits. A separate section will also focus on methods of picking and processing dry fruits. The objective is to strengthen beneficiaries’ skills in food processing and marketing, enabling them to generate sustainable income.
Specific Duties:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of a diploma or certification in Food Technology, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field.
At least 2-3 years of practical experience in food processing, preservation, or agribusiness.
Prior experience as a vocational trainer or instructor is highly desirable.
Other Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of food processing techniques (pickling, drying, juicing, sauce-making, etc.).
Ability to prepare training materials, lesson plans, and reports.
Effective teaching, communication, and mentoring skills.
Ability to train participants with both literate and low-literacy backgrounds.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
Fluency in Dari and Pashto; English is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
