Job Descriptions:

The Community Outreach and Health Trainer will play a key role in implementing the health facility improvement initiative under the new comprehensive health center (NCHC) program. This position involves delivering community health education sessions, training outreach health workers, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the health centers are equipped and staff are capacitated to deliver quality healthcare services.

Job Requirements:

1. Needs Assessment

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments for each NCHC to identify specific requirements for basic furniture and medical equipment.
  • Engage with health workers, community members, and relevant authorities to ensure alignment with national health standards and sector recommendations.

2. Procurement & Installation

  • Coordinate the procurement process for hospital furniture, medical equipment, and additional amenities (e.g., heating gas balloons, drinking water coolers).
  • Oversee delivery, installation, and quality verification of procured items at NCHC.

3. Training of Community Outreach Health Workers

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate training sessions for community outreach health workers.
  • Ensure training content equips workers with effective community engagement and health promotion skills.

4. Organizing Community Health Education Sessions

  • Arrange and manage health education sessions in NCHC.
  • Have close coordination with the provincial team of WASSA and the project regional manager in the main office
  • Ensure training materials are obtained and distributed appropriately.
  • Facilitate the participation of up to 10 health workers per session, focusing on reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health in emergencies.

 

5. Monitoring, Reporting, and Coordination

  • Maintain accurate records of activities, participants, and distributed materials.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate with UNHCR, local health authorities, and other stakeholders for smooth program implementation.
  • Ensure all activities comply with donor and organizational standards, safeguarding principles, and health safety protocols.
