Women Activities & Social Service Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 in Afghanistan as a non-governmental organization, committed to seeking ways for women's empowerment in Afghanistan. Contribute to MEAL tools and reporting improvement

  • Document lessons learned, case studies, and success stories in coordination with Project Managers and Base Coordinators.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of MEAL tools tailored for FSL interventions, alongside health and protection monitoring.
  • Regularly report to the MEAL Coordinator on progress, challenges, and results related to health and FSL MEAL activities.
  • Support development of project PM Box, databases, checklists, and interview tools for individual and group assessments.

Job Descriptions:

Monitoring

  1. Managing and conducting the Monitoring activities of the projects in accordance to the donor requirements as well as the WASSA Monitoring and Evaluation Policy and tools.
  2. Leading and coordinating the implementation of various types of assessments, verifications of beneficiaries through surveys
  3. Conducting onsite monitoring of project activities and processes where necessary
  4. Developing checklists and Monitoring tools for the project activities and output level monitoring

Evaluation

  1. With Support from the MEAL team, develop and design documents for project baseline and end-line evaluation based on the donor requirements and WASSA Evaluation guidelines
  2. Ensure accurate and reliable data is collected for baseline and evaluation of the project
  3. Ensure Evaluations/ Baseline are planned on timely basis and final products delivered on time.

Accountability

  1. Operate and manage safe and accessible Feedback and Complaints Response Mechanism (FCRM).
  2. Build capacity of all staff, partners, and project participants on accountability
  3. Ensure all project participants are aware of the FCRM, key project information, and expectations
  4. Periodic review of accountability practices

Learning:

  1. Promoting organizational learning and knowledge sharing;
  2. Collecting the information from beneficiaries in writing the success stories;
  3. Generate lessons learned from the project and share with project team for improvement of the interventions;
  4. Supporting project managers in improving learning and sharing mechanisms in their projects;

Job Requirements:

Contribute to the implementation of MEAL system

  • Develop MEAL Plans, Project Plans, and Monitoring Tools, Checklists, and Formats for effective implementation of activities in the health center and FSL sites.
  • Track, update, and report on the Indicator Tracking Table (ITT) for both health and FSL components.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of project activities under health, food security (cash for food and community kitchen), and assess progress toward achieving outputs, outcomes, and project goals.
  • Design and conduct Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM), especially for cash and hot meal interventions.
  • Clean and analyze data; prepare related reports including for beneficiary selection, PDM, satisfaction surveys, and needs assessments.
  • Prepare comprehensive field visit reports and contribute to monthly and quarterly progress reports for donors and internal use.
  • Conduct regular visits to the health center and FSL implementation sites (Islam Qala and Herat) to monitor the quality and effectiveness of services, using predefined MEAL tools; propose adjustments where needed.
  • Support implementation of Complaints Feedback, Response,  (CFRM) system

  • Ensure beneficiaries in health and FSL components have access to feedback and complaints mechanisms through multiple safe and accessible channels.
  • Support design, implementation, and follow-up of FCM at the health center and FSL sites, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
  • Conduct field monitoring to ensure the FCM system is functioning properly, and support response mechanisms to address beneficiary concerns effectively.
  • Analyze feedback trends and recommend programmatic adjustments to improve service delivery, especially in cash and meal interventions.
