Afghan Community and Health Rehabilitation Organization (ACHRO) is a non-political, non for profit, non- governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of GIRoA on April, 08, 2010 under registration # 1658. ACHRO has also been registered or recognized as partner with more than 40 national and International organizations. ACHRO is active Partner of (UNHCR) and (WHH). ACHRO has established and maintains network with civil society, community-based social institutions, and government line ministries in Afghanistan. ACHRO’s core sectors of activities include health, emergency/relief, capacity building, women empowerment, and livelihood and development sectors. ACHRO is currently implementing UN- WOMEN and UNHCR-funded project in the South-East, south and central regions of the country.
1. Clinical Duties:
Conducting routine pelvic exams, Pap smears, and breast exams to screen for cancers or infections.
Diagnosing and treating disorders such as endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Providing contraception counseling and prescribing birth control methods (pills, IUDs, implants).
Managing menopause-related symptoms, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Performing surgeries like hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and dilation & curettage (D&C).
Treating infertility issues and performing procedures like in vitro fertilization (IVF) if specialized.
2. Obstetric Duties (if also an OB-GYN):
Providing prenatal care and monitoring fetal development during pregnancy.
Managing high-risk pregnancies (e.g., gestational diabetes, preeclampsia).
Delivering babies via vaginal birth or cesarean section (C-section).
Handling postpartum care, including recovery and breastfeeding support.
3. Preventive Care & Counseling:
Educating patients on sexual health, family planning, and safe sex practices.
Advising on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes for reproductive health.
Screening for and managing domestic violence or sexual health concerns.
4. Surgical & Diagnostic Procedures:
Performing colposcopies (examining the cervix for abnormalities).
Conducting ultrasounds and biopsies for cancer detection.
Carrying out minimally invasive surgeries (e.g., laparoscopy for endometriosis).
Medical degree (MD or DO) with residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
Board certification (e.g., American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology).
Strong communication and empathy for sensitive patient concerns.
Surgical precision and ability to handle emergencies (e.g., ectopic pregnancies).
