HISTORY

Global Partners is an international Nongovernment Organization (NGO) based in the United Kingdom that carries out humanitarian projects worldwide. Global Partners was formed in 1991 with the objectives of advancing education and relieving poverty.

WHERE WE WORK

Global Partners has been involved in relief work in more than 20 countries around the world and has continuing development projects in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Asia to identify and evaluate the greatest needs of the people we serve. Alongside local partners, we attempt to eliminate obstacles and elevate the abilities and success of communities.

WHAT WE DO:

Global Partners works in the areas of community development, education and training, health improvement, emergency relief, and refugee assistance.

This job is for a nurse to work in a pediatric clinic inside the Herat Women’s Prison.  Preference will be given to applicants with previous NGO and prison work experience.

1. Responsible for assisting the physicians and project director in a professional manner at the clinic inside the women’s prison.
2. Responsible for completing and updating a registration file for each child.
3. Responsible for assisting the doctors making monthly “well-baby” checks of each child.  (Taking vital signs, weight, height, and other measurements)
4. Responsible for preparing and teaching health/hygiene classes to the prisoners, including lactation training.
5. Responsible for assisting project director in establishing and maintaining relationships with outside vendors, such as laboratories and pharmacies.
6. Preparing work reports in both Dari and English.
7. Participating in sectoral meetings related to project activities.
