Job Summary:

The Hospital Director is responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and strategic direction of the hospital. This role ensures high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Hospital Director works closely with medical staff, department heads, and external stakeholders to enhance hospital performance and community health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement hospital policies, goals, and strategic plans.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective healthcare delivery.
  • Align hospital services with community needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and manage the hospital budget, ensuring financial stability.
  • Optimize resource allocation (staff, equipment, facilities) for cost-effective operations.
  • Identify funding opportunities and implement revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, accreditation standards, and patient safety protocols.
  • Promote a patient-centered care environment with high clinical standards.
  • Address patient complaints and improve service quality based on feedback.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate department heads and administrative staff.
  • Foster a collaborative work culture, resolving conflicts and enhancing staff morale.
  • Encourage professional development and continuing education for employees.
  • Represent the hospital in negotiations with insurers, government agencies, and vendors.
  • Build partnerships with medical institutions, community organizations, and donors.
  • Communicate with media and the public on hospital initiatives and policies.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Implement risk management and emergency preparedness protocols.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: MD Doctor, Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in hospital/healthcare management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Licensure/Certification: Preferred (e.g., FACHE certification).
  • Skills:
    • Strong financial, operational, and strategic planning expertise.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of healthcare laws, accreditation (e.g., JCI), and EHR systems.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, high-pressure hospital setting.
  • May require on-call availability for emergencies.

Performance Metrics:

  • Patient satisfaction scores.
  • Financial performance (budget adherence, revenue growth).
  • Compliance with safety and accreditation standards.
