Health Care and Social Development ORG-HSDO is an Afghan a Non-Political, Non-Governmental and Non-Profit organization, established to extend developmental and humanitarian assistance to the urban and rural communities of Afghanistan through implementing various projects in several provinces of Afghanistan. It has been registered in 2008 with the Ministry of Economy (MOEc) of the Government Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIROA) with Reg # 1239. It is also registered with Ministry of Public Health (Reg. # 1096) and in listed member with Agency Coordination Body for Relief and Development (ACBAR). Health Care and Social Development Organization working since its establishment in 5th thematic areas such Community Development, Women Empowerment, Health, Education, Peace Building and Conflict Resolutions.

Job Descriptions:

  • Oversee all procurement activities for drugs and medical supplies, ensuring they follow organizational policies, budgets, and timelines to keep services running smoothly.
  • Develop and enforce clear procedures for stock management, hygiene, and security at all HSDO pharmacies to protect inventory and ensure patient safety.
  • Regularly check stock levels using tracking tools to avoid shortages or excess supplies and use resources efficiently.
  • Make sure all storage areas meet safety standards, including proper temperature control, in line with national rules and international guidelines.
  • Confirm that all drugs and medical supplies meet quality and certification standards set by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • Lead the inspection and approval of deliveries from suppliers before distributing them to health facilities.
  • Perform regular inventory checks to keep accurate records, ensure traceability, and maintain accountability.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy staff, providing training to improve their skills and ensure they follow best practices.
  • Conduct regular technical visits and refresher training on drug storage and equipment care.
  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to coordinate supply chain activities and timely delivery.
  • Prepare monthly reports on stock levels, usage, and distribution for management and donors.
  • Collaborate with provincial and national pharmaceutical groups to align procurement efforts and share information.
  • Work with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) and finance teams to ensure accurate data and budget management.
  • Follow and promote HSDO’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies, setting a good example for ethical behavior.
  • Ensure your actions and those of your team prioritize the safety of HSDO staff and the vulnerable communities served.
  • Inform external partners about HSDO’s conduct policies and reporting systems to encourage transparency.
  • Quickly report any concerns or issues related to conduct, safety, or compliance to the right authorities.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

Experience:          

At least 5 years of professional experience in NGO/INGO. Experience in quality assurance activities in pharmaceutical procurement Management would be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of Afghan pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Experience in emergency drugs supply chain.
  • knowledge of BPHS/EPHS standards.

Other:                  

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  •  Computer skills: MS Office, MS Outlook, Teams.
